Ecumenical prayer network

The congregation of St Mary Magdalene is represented on the Ecumenical Prayer Network which is made up of representatives from most churches in the area.

The Network grew out of a prayer group formed in 1996 by friends from local churches who met on a weekly basis. Then in 1999 members of the local churches who were involved with healing prayer and intercession groups discussed and arrived at an efficient working format for the present Network.

A confidential list of prayer requests is updated monthly and sent to members by post while urgent requests are phoned round when necessary. People on the list are prayed for daily.

We hold meetings on the first Wednesday of each month which are attended by a core group of members. Some members never attend the meetings, preferring just to pray daily, but those of us who do like to share Holy Communion together. On occasions when this is not possible we use the Agape service from the Iona Worship Book.

Many people have found this ongoing, quiet and strictly confidential ministry invaluable over the years. We believe it is God's will that we should all be whole. To pray for healing at a person's deepest point of need is to pray within God's will for His healing grace. If you have a prayer request please e-mail ecumenical@yarmchurch.co.uk with your details.
